Reno County Child Care Task Force Seeks Projects for Capital Projects Fund Accelerator Grant

HUTCHINSON, Kan.  — The Reno County Child Care Task Force is currently seeking interest from community partners who would like to be part of a collaborative application to the Kansas’ Capital Projects Fund Accelerator Grant opportunity.

The CPF Accelerator Grant is specifically focused on expanding full time, full year child care capacity in communities by offering capital funds for expansion, renovation, new construction and the implementation of sustainable solutions for licensed child care providers. In order to qualify for the CPF Accelerator Grant, projects must meet the following outcomes:

  • Increase the number of individuals receiving access to education, including early childhood education
  • Increase access to physical, mental, and/or behavioral health needs in the community
  • Increase access to supports that enable work, including broadband
  • Increase access to child care for children birth to 5 years

“This is a unique opportunity for the child care industry to apply for funding at the state level, specifically for capital building purposes, so we are doing our best to maximize the potential impact receiving this award could have on our county,” states Debra Teufel, Chamber President and Task Force member.
