SOUTH CENTRAL, Kan. — Home sales made through Prairie Land Realtors’ Mid Kansas Multiple Listing Service during July was up 7.2% from a year ago. A total of 149 homes were sold in their territory compared to 139 units for the month in 2013.
The median sales price of $165,000 was unchanged from July 2023. across the region with the average home on the market for 26 days. In Reno County 71 homes sold, up 4.4%, with the median sales price of $152,000 was up 11.4%, and on average was on the market for 26 days.
In the McPherson area, which includes MLS sales in McPherson and Marion counties, 41 homes sold which was up 24.2%, with the median sales price of $180,000 down 9.1% and on average on the market for 33 days.
In the Pratt area, which also includes MLS sales in Barber County, six homes sold in July, down 25% from July 2023, with the median sale prices of $131,000 off 27.3%. The average home there was on the market for 43 days, up sharply from 2023.
Region-wide there were 282 active listings as of the end of July, or a 2.4-month inventory. The median list price of those homes is at $189,000. Reno County’s inventory of 108 homes is about a 1.9-month inventory. McPherson area inventory of 76 homes is about a 2.5-month inventory, and in the Pratt area 52 listings were active, a five-month supply.
In July, a total of 125 contracts were written down from 149 in July 2023. At the end of the month, there were 151 contracts still pending.
