Area home sales during August through Prairie Land Realtors Mid-Kansas Multiple Listing Service were down 3.3% from a year ago, while median sales prices were up.
147 homes were sold through the MLS, with a median Sales price of $170,500 up 4.1 percent from August 2023. Those homes were typically on the market for 11 days and brought 99.3% of list prices.
As of August 31, there were 287 homes listed through the MLS, or a 2.4-month supply. 143 contracts were written for the month, up 19 from a year ago, with 157 contracts pending at that time.
In Reno County 75 homes sold with a median sales price of $166,250 which was up 8.7 percent from last August and was on the market for 12 days. Reno County had 109 homes on the market at Month’s end, or a 1.9-month inventory.
In the McPherson area, which also includes MLS sales in Marion County, 41 homes sold, down 6.8% from last year, with the median sales price jumping 21.7 percent to $217,000 and median days on the market at 11 down 15.4 percent. 80 homes were listed on the MLS in the McPherson area, or a 2.7-month supply.
The Pratt Area, which includes Barber County. Has just five home sales in August, with the median sales price at $185,000. In that area, the median home was on the market for over four months, up sharply from a year ago with 42 home listings active, or a 4.2-month supply.
