As predicted, high winds tore across Kansas Tuesday. Wind gusts at or just over 60 miles an hour were common across much of central Kansas with stronger winds in the Russell area. Winds will remain on the gusty side through Friday, though gusts won’t be as high. The highest wind gusts reported by the National Weather Service were in southwest Kansas at 93 miles an hour near Hugoton, with an 84-mile-an-hour gust in Garden City.
