UPDATE – A Hutchinson woman struck last Thursday evening by a motor vehicle has died. Hutchinson Police have identified the woman as 29-year-old Nikia Thomas. She passed away after being transported to St. Francies Via Christi hospital in Wichita.
The vehicle that struck Thomas was driven by 51-year-old Michael A Taylor.
No criminal charges have been filed. Police say the collision remains under investigation and they are asking anyone who might have information to contact either traffic officers Hammond or Boudreaux at 620-694-2854.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Officers with the Hutchinson Police Department, along with the Hutchinson Fire Department and Reno County EMS, responded Thursday Evening to the report of a pedestrian hit by a motor vehicle in the 1300 block of South Severance.
According to Hutchinson Police Captain Dayton Gates, a 29-year-old female was walking North on Severance St and was struck by a vehicle driven by a 51-year-old male, also traveling North.
The victim was transported to St. Francis Via Christi hospital in Wichita for treatment of her injuries.
An investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
