NORWICH, Kan. — One person is dead, and another injured after an early Sunday morning shooting in Norwich in far southeast Kingman County.
Kingman County Undersheriff Travis Sowers said deputies were called to the 300 block of South Somerset, where on arrival emergency crew found a 37-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds.
That person was taken by Norwich EMS to a Wichita hospital with reported critical injuries. A 44-year-old man was found deceased at the scene.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is aiding in the investigation with the assistance of their crime scene unit. No further details are available at this time due to the ongoing investigation and notification of families.
Undersheriff Sowers said this is an isolated incident and there is no ongoing danger to the community or public.
