Moundridge Man Killed in Nebraska Plane Crash

MOUNDRIDGE, Kan. — A Moundridge man was one of three people killed in the Friday night crash of a small plane near Fremont, Neb., northwest of Omaha.

The Dodge County, Neb., Sheriff’s Office identified the men as 43-year-old Daniel Williams of Moundridge, and 50-year-old Jeff Bittinger and 48-year-old Randy Amrein, both of Fremont.

The plane was flying along the Platte River south of Fremont when it crashed in the river about 8:15 p.m. Numerous fire departments and other first responders, including some from the Omaha Area, responded to the crash site.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing and being handled by the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board.
