MOUNDRIDGE, Kan. — The Moundridge Lions Club, along with partnering groups and community members, has launched a fundraising campaign for a new playground in memory of Maddie Kaufman, an eight-year-old girl who passed away Nov. 21 after a 13.5-month battle with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma.
A fund has been established through the Moundridge Community Foundation for the Maddie Kaufman Playground Fund.
The Lions Club shared that the Maddie Kaufman Playground “will create a joyful place for children to play, families to gather, and Maddie’s light to shine for generations.”
While a location for the playground hasn’t yet been firmed up, they are looking at a possible site in Black Kettle Park.
Donations to the fund can be made payable to the Moundridge Community Foundation at PO Box 345, Moundridge, KS 67107 or dropped off at Schmidt and Stucky LLC or the Moundridge Police Department.
