McPHERSON, Kan. – McPherson Center for Health announces the hiring of Will Moore, Paramedic, as Director of Emergency Medical Services for McPherson. Moore replaces John Helmer who recently retired from Emergency Medical Services after serving for over 28 years.

Moore is a McPherson native who brings over ten years of experience in clinical care, pre-hospital care and fire service. Prior to McPherson, Moore served Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan as an EMT/Clinical Tech, Riley County EMS as an EMT, AEM, and Paramedic, and Riley County Fire District #1 as a Firefighter and Lieutenant/Paramedic.

McPherson County EMS has a total of three crews each working a 24-hour shift. Each crew has a minimum of four people including a captain. Moore says that emergency services is an ever-changing field. “Each call can bring a different situation, from dealing with emergencies that are someone’s worst day, to helping an elderly patient off the floor. Each call has the potential to be life-changing, good or bad, for the individual. It is our job to help determine those outcomes.”

Dara Reese, Executive Director of Nursing and Acute Care Services said, “In Will’s short time here, he has already accomplished so much in department outreach and process development that enhances patient care. From the beginning, he has been very clear that his passion is to serve the community he grew up in and his actions have shown nothing less. He is a great addition to our team and the community we serve.

Moore said he is excited to return to his hometown, which has always been a special place. “I am excited to build new relationships with all the first responder groups in McPherson County. I believe that building strong and true relationships can only improve the overall Emergency Services we provide to the McPherson community.
