McPHERSON, Kan. — Among the many volunteers who helped out at Thursday’s McPherson Community Thanksgiving Dinner was one for whom this was a new experience – Thanksgiving in general, not just this dinner.
Jorge Juarez, a foreign exchange student at McPherson High School from Madrid, Spain, said they don’t have anything like this in Spain. In English classes there, Thanksgiving was touched on briefly, but not in depth.
When asked about his impressions of Thanksgiving, Juarez told Ad Astra News, “The food smells pretty good, it looks very good too. I’m Hungry.”
