McPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson Water Park will remain closed for now due to Tuesday’s windstorm and torrential rains. This is due to a combination of not being able to run off excess water due to excess flows going through the city’s wastewater treatment plant and debris issues in the area of the Water Park.
No activities will take place until a full cleanup of debris in and around the water park has been completed, proper water chemistry can be maintained, and it is deemed safe for swimmers to return.
Staff will work with interested individuals to reschedule missed swim lessons for future sessions. Those affected can email either [email protected] or [email protected].
In a release last night, the water park said they realize it is an inconvenience, but they are working diligently as are all city departments to work through the storm’s aftermath and get things back up and going.
