McPHERSON, Kan. — McPherson USD 418 is making a change in how it handles student fees for the 2025-26 school year.
In March, the Board of Education adopted a Learning Resource Fee, which would replace previous variable fees with a consistent flat rate, which will be $90 for elementary students and $160 for middle and high school students, plus a $200 technology fee for middle and high school students.
As part of this new fee setup, the district has introduced a new reduced rate tier, which is intended for families that may not meet traditional qualifications for reduced price programs but could still benefit from financial assistance. This is based on 75 percent of the standard fee amount based on state child nutrition and wellness income eligibility guidelines
To qualify, families will need to complete the meal benefits application and opt into the program.
