The proposed 2027 City of McPherson operating budget calls for a tax increase.

If approved, the city would spend about 2.5 million more dollars in tax revenue next year. City leaders say the budget will exceed the Revenue Neutral Rate, which means the city will take in more tax money in 2027 that it did this year with a proposed budget that calls for a slight mil levy increase.

A public meeting is planned for September 1st, at the Municipal Center allowing residents to speak to city leaders.
