McPHERSON, Kan. — McPherson Public Library, McPherson High School, and Miller Library (McPherson College) have completed special projects for April to support the city’s celebration of Law Day (Friday, May 1). The Public Library created two special bookmarks, one for adults and one for children and youth, listing titles related to the rule of law. The bookmarks are available at the library and at the Twice Told Tales bookstore downtown.

The adult bookmark is linked to a Law Day-McPherson website created and hosted by McPherson High School. The website (http://mcphersonlawday.weebly.com) presents additional suggestions for reading materials, along with special information such as President Dwight Eisenhower’s original 1958 proclamation of Law Day.

“We’ve listed a variety of relevant books, both fiction and non-fiction, in print and audio formats” said Gentry Briseňo, Circulation Coordinator, “and they’re all accessible either in our collection or staff can order them from area libraries.”

Miller Library at McPherson College is presenting a display of their materials related to Law Day during the month of April. Kristie Sojka, Director of Library Services, noted that “people don’t realize that because of our teacher training program at the college, our collection also contains numerous books for children.” She added that all materials at Miller Library can be checked out by McPherson residents.
