McPherson Leaders Under 30 to be Awarded in the Fall


McPHERSON, Kan. At the City Commission Meeting Tuesday morning, McPherson Police Department Chief Mikel Golden and Detective Patrick Carr announced that three McPherson City Employees will be recognized and awarded later this fall for their efforts and contributions to the community.

The three McPherson Leaders Under 30 announced were McPherson Police Department School Resource Officer Brady Winkler, D.A.R.E. Officer Blane Janssen, and McPherson Public Library’s McKenzie Murphy.

Officer Winkler and Officer Janssen will be recognized for protecting and providing mentorships to students in the community and Murphy will be recognized for her new ideas to engage the public and project initiatives with the public.

Chief Golden stated in a Facebook announcement to the leaders, “Keep up the Great Work and know you are all appreciated and prime examples of what the City of McPherson’s future holds in its strategic plan to build relationships, communicate with our community, and show the rest of the State that McPherson is doing things right.”
