McPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson Fire Department was called out this morning to a house fire in the 600 block of North Oak.
McPherson Fire Chief Chad Mayberry said they were dispatched about 10:30 AM, and the first arriving units reported light smoke coming from the residence.
The smoke was traced to a kitchen fire, which was quickly put out with fire damage confined to the kitchen. There was smoke and water damage throughout the home.
A female teen who was the only person in the home at the time got out safely, and two dogs were also removed from the home and checked out.
The cause of the fire has been ruled as accidental.
