McPHERSON, Kan. (January 2, 2026) — McPherson Center for Health proudly welcomed its first baby of the new year with the birth of Stetson Brian, born on January 2, 2026, to proud parents Austin and Maci, both local to the McPherson community.
Stetson’s arrival was especially meaningful for McPherson Center for Health, as his mother, Maci, is a Registered Medical Assistant and Nurse Navigator in the hospital’s Rural Health Clinic. Welcoming a baby from within the hospital family made this New Year birth even more special.
“Having one of our own team members experience such a joyful milestone here truly reflects the heart of our hospital,” said Jacquie Disque, BSN,RN, Director of Women’s Care and Birth Center
Baby Stetson was delivered by Dr. Norton with McPherson Center for Health’s Rural Health Clinic. Maci shared her gratitude for the care she received, saying she had the best experience with the nursing staff and “wouldn’t have been able to do it without them.”
Stetson’s birth also carried special family significance. He was born on the birthday of Austin’s mother, making the day even more memorable for the family. His middle name, Brian, honors Austin’s late grandfather, who named Austin after a close friend who had passed away. Now, Austin is proudly passing that meaningful name on to his son, continuing a legacy that spans generations. Austin works locally as an operator and welder.
At home, Stetson is being welcomed by his 6-year-old half-brother, Grayson, who initially hoped for a sister and lovingly referred to the baby as “Baby Hulk.” Grayson is now overjoyed to have a baby brother, telling his parents he was “so happy he wanted to cry.”
Proud dad Austin described Stetson as “the best baby he has ever seen,” adding that “you really have to make him mad to get him to cry.” The family shared that they are most excited to watch the two brothers grow up together and begin this new chapter as a family of four.
To celebrate the hospital’s first baby of the new year, McPherson Center for Health Volunteers presented the family with a special basket of goodies, including handmade items from the hospital’s sewing group, adding a personal and heartfelt touch to the celebration.
McPherson Center for Health is honored to be part of such a meaningful beginning and congratulates the family on the arrival of baby Stetson.
