McPHERSON, Kan. — A Hutchinson man was arrested Sunday morning after a stolen car was located south of McPherson and a later chase through Walmart.

McPherson Police Chief Mikel Golden said Sheriff’s deputies spotted the car, which turned out to be stolen from Hutchinson, about 9 AM in a ditch near K-61 and 14th Avenue or South Main. Sheriff’s deputies had begun a search for the suspect about a half hour later.

About 10:40 AM Police received a report of a burglary that had just occurred in the 2100 block of East Kansas. Witnesses there were able to provide a description of the suspect, who had gone into and out of several businesses in the area.

About 11:20 AM Seth Gilliam was spotted inside the McPherson Walmart, and a chase ensued during which he fled out an emergency exit before being apprehended near the Fairfield Inn a block away.
