RENO COUNTY, Kan. — The Reno County Sheriff’s Office and the Hutchinson Police Department are joining law enforcement agencies across the country for a nationwide sober driving campaign.

Reno County law enforcement launched their campaign on August 23rd, and the Hutchinson Police Department is set to begin its increased presence on August 28th. Both departments will maintain enhanced patrol efforts on local roads through September 7th, with the goal of removing impaired drivers from the roadway.

The Hutchinson Police Department reminds motorists that alcohol is not the only impairing substance that can result in a DUI. Driving while under the influence of any impairing substance can lead to serious legal consequences or worse.

With the Labor Day holiday approaching, the Reno County Sheriff’s Office urges everyone to celebrate responsibly and drive sober.
