LINN COUNTY, KAN. – Linn County deputies responded Tuesday, August 11, to a reported domestic disturbance at a residence on Acorn Cove in the Lake Chaparral community near Mound City, where they found a woman severely battered.
Investigators identified the suspect as 36-year-old Mathew Hudson, who allegedly attempted to run over the victim with a vehicle before fleeing the scene. With assistance from the Miami County Sheriff’s Office, Hudson’s vehicle and possible location were identified, and a coordinated response involving local deputies and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation was organized.
Shortly after 3 p.m., Hudson surrendered to Miami County deputies without further incident and was taken into custody.
