LINDSBORG, Kan. — Lyons Assistant City Administrator Tanner Faust has been named the new City Administrator in Lindsborg. He will assume his new position July 18, succeeding Kristi Northcutt who stepped down in March to become director of the University of Kansas Public Management Center.

Faust began his employment with the City of Lyons in February 2024 as Community Development Director, later assuming the Assistant City Administrator role and having served as interim City Administrator during the between the departure of former Administrator Ed Truelove and hiring of current Administrator Troy Houtman.

Lindsborg Mayor Clark Shultz told Ad Astra News that Faust was selected from about 30 applicants for the position. A pool of eight candidates was identified; two of whom found other employment.

Shultz said, “We liked Tanner’s energy and enthusiasm coupled with a very impressive variety of governmental experience,” adding he was the only candidate given an offer.

The City of Lyons has already begun a search for Faust’s successor.
