A Kincaid teen was killed and one other injured in a late Saturday night UTV crash west of Garnett.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said the UTV, driven by Wyatt Whitham, 16 was southbound on northwest Marshall Road at 11:39 PM and was attempting to turn east onto NW 1750 road when he struck the south embankment and it overturned on the driver’s side.
Whitham was pronounced dead at the scene. One of two passengers in the UTV, 15-year-old Colton Dilley of Garnett, sustained minor injuries, but the KHP crash report did not indicate whether he was taken to a hospital. A third passenger, 14-year-old Joseph Fagg of Garnett, was not injured.
The Highway Patrol said none of the occupants of the UTV was wearing a safety restraint at the time of the crash.
