Sterling, Kan. – First Bank will be bringing in a nationally known speaker on succession planning this February.
Jolene Brown, CSP, CPAE is an award-winning author specializing in helping families navigate the difficult waters of planning ahead. Brown is often called the “Doctor Phil of Succession Planning” due to her no-nonsense way of relating to business owners. From a farming background, Brown uses her experience and her sense of humor to educate on the next steps in leaving a legacy.
“We recognize not every transition will be from one family member to another. We also know that having no plan can harm not only the business owner, but also our communities, their downtown, and our local culture,” said Jeff Laudermilk, First Bank President. “So, succession planning is good for business and keeps our small towns strong,” Laudermilk added.
In addition to Brown, panelists will share their knowledge in accounting, financial planning, estate law, and insurance.
The event will be hosted on February 28th from 9 am to 3 pm with lunch provided at Studio 96 in downtown Sterling. Space is limited and those wishing to attend should reserve their space quickly by contacting event coordinator, Raechel Manley at (620) 278-2161.
