Kansas Tourism today announced $102,500 has been awarded for 16 tourism-related marketing projects to enhance and expand the advertising and attraction efforts of Kansas communities. Each project is designed to attract new visitors to Kansas through innovative campaigns.

“Investing in our local tourist attractions and the unique events happening across the state plays a large role in our efforts to land new people, new dollars and new businesses in Kansas,” Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of Commerce David Toland said. “Our state benefits greatly from the $13.2 billion in total economic impact generated by the travel and tourism industry each year, and the Department of Commerce will continue supporting efforts to help increase that impact.”

Grant applicants were reviewed by a committee of Kansas Tourism representatives. Funding through this partnership is intended to increase travel to tourism destinations sites while enhancing the state’s image. This grant leverages Kansas Tourism’s resources and extends the marketing reach of local communities.

“As we award these marketing grants, we’re not just investing in tourism attractions, we’re fueling the vibrant stories and experiences that make our state unique,” Kansas Tourism Director Bridgette Jobe said. “This is an exciting opportunity to help these attractions reach new audiences and showcase the diverse experiences that Kansas has to offer. It’s a win for our communities, our visitors and the Kansas economy.”

In total, the 16 grant recipients will invest more than $350,000 in matching funds toward the approved projects. To see the complete list of Tourism Marketing Grant awardees, click here.
