HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A Holiday Taffy Drive-Thru is being hosted by the Kansas Fairgrounds Foundation on the Kansas State Fairgrounds. The Official Kansas State Fair Merchandise and Information Booth, which sits next to the Lair-Steckline Interactive Water Fountain, has been turned into a festive pop-up sweet shop.
The community is invited to pick out last-minute gifts at the first-ever Taffy Drive-Up Holiday Pop-Up event. The Merchandise and Information Booth—home of the only Official Kansas State Fair gear during the Fair—has been transformed into a festive sweet shop just in time for the holidays. This one-day event is the perfect opportunity to top off your gift list.
Shoppers will find a variety of ready-to-gift options, from wrapped Holiday Taffy Packages to stocking stuffers like Ike the Bison plushies and individual bags of Kansas State Fair Salt Water Taffy.
Holiday Taffy Packages include six bags of Kansas State Fair Salt Water Taffy, an Ike the Bison plushie, and a handwritten card, all festively wrapped and ready to gift for $54. Flavor options are designed to suit a variety of tastes, with featured selections such as the seasonal favorite Peppermint. Buttered Popcorn—a surprisingly popular flavor that fairgoers have described as a smooth, buttery-vanilla sensation—is another holiday hit reminiscent of sweet popcorn balls and decorative popcorn garlands.
Individual bags of taffy are also available in Assorted (featuring up to 12 flavors in one bag), Banana, Buttered Popcorn, Cotton Candy, Peppermint, and Watermelon. Individual bags are $10 each, or three for $25, with an additional price break if you buy 10 or more bags of the delicious taffy.
Ike the Bison plushies are modeled after the Kansas State Fair mascot and will be available for $5 during the pop-up event. Dressed in Ike’s signature KEY overalls, these adorable plushies are sure to bring a smile to anyone on your list.
Salt Water Taffy hadn’t been available on the Fairgrounds during the Kansas State Fair since 2019, until the Kansas Fairgrounds Foundation proudly brought it back for the 2025 Fair. It was a big hit with fairgoers and makes a sweet and nostalgic gift this holiday season.
Supplies are limited, and the Taffy Drive-Up Holiday Pop-Up is a one-day-only event. Taking place just five days before Christmas—on the final shopping weekend before the big day—it’s the perfect chance to add a last sweet touch under the tree and in your stockings.
