About Kansas Honor Flight and Volunteers

Kansas Honor Flight is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit relying completely on volunteers and donations.  Since 2012, 3,963 Kansas veterans have received their Kansas Honor Flight trip of a lifetime in appreciation of their service.  The trip also provides healing, closure and a proper welcome home these veterans didn’t receive when returning from service.   The cost to send a veteran on the 3 day trip is approximately $900.  Guardians who travel with those veterans’ needing assistance pay their own way.  Eligible veterans may apply online on the Kansas Honor Flight website for a trip.   Veterans are flown in order of date of applications received, with WWII, Korea War and terminally ill veterans going to the head of the line.

The Kansas Honor Flight Hutchinson (KHF) Volunteers work to honor Kansas veterans of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War by providing them with this ALL-EXPENSE PAID, THREE-DAY JOURNEY of honor and remembrance to visit their memorials in Washington, D.C. The organization also works to educate the youth and communities throughout Kansas about the impact of these historic wars and the freedoms our nation enjoys because of the service of our veterans.

There are approximately 450 Kansas Veterans waiting to go on this once in a lifetime trip.  You can help in sending a Veteran by donating or volunteering.  Our volunteers come in all ages, shapes, sizes and all walks of life.  We have students, business owners, active duty and retired military, TV and media personnel, moms, dads, brothers, sisters and much, much more!  There is always PLENTY of work to be done and we’d love to have You!
