Blazing hot temperatures have prompted an extreme heat warning from the National Weather Service until Friday evening.
The soaring degrees and high humidity has health professionals reminding everyone to drink plenty of water – but what about our landscape plants and gardens?
K-State Extension agent Jason Graves tells Ad Astra News that – yes, you can water them too much!
“We don’t want to keep watering, watering, watering nonstop,” Graves said. “We need some time for the soil to dry.” Graves added the roots need oxygen too. “We don’t want to suffocate them, so we do want to allow that soil to go through a drying process and let oxygen get back in.”
