LINDSBORG, Kan. — An incident this morning at Smoky Valley High School in Lindsborg turned out to not be as serious as first feared.

USD 400 Superintendent Quinton Breese said a community member alerted authorities about a possible weapon seen in a student’s car on campus. An investigation determined what was seen was a toy “Airsoft “ gun that posed no risk or threat of safety to anyone in the school.

No changes were made to school schedules as a result of this.

Breeze said in a statement they are not able to share any further details at this time due to confidentiality laws and a longstanding commitment to the privacy of students and their families. He also encouraged parents and students to always report any concerns about safety at school.
