HUTCHINSON, Kan. — As temperatures begin to rise, Westlake Ace Hardware and The Salvation Army are once again joining forces to bring summer relief to those in need through their annual Fan Drive. The campaign runs May 19 through June 7 and aims to provide new box fans to help individuals and families stay cool during the hot summer months.
Customers can support the effort by rounding up their purchases at any Westlake Ace Hardware store. All funds collected will go directly toward purchasing fans for distribution by local Salvation Army commands.
Last year, Westlake Ace customers in Hutchinson raised enough money to donate 63 box fans to the local Salvation Army for distribution to local citizens.
Nationwide, the Fan Drive now spans 157 Westlake Ace-owned stores, and has raised a total of $963,000, distributing more than 65,000 fans since inception.
“From the beginning, the Fan Drive has made a tangible difference in the lives of people across the country,” said Joe Jeffries, president and CEO of Ace Retail Holdings (parent company of Westlake Ace Hardware).
