Hutchinson Resident Held at Gunpoint, Suspect in Custody


HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday, officers with the Hutchinson Police Department responded to an armed intruder call at a residence. A suspect reportedly had held the home’s occupant at gunpoint and then stole a vehicle.

On Wednesday, officers with the Wichita Police Department were able to locate the stolen vehicle being driven by William J Alexander. It was determined that he was the armed intruder from the call, as well as another burglary in the same area.

Alexander is being held at the Reno County Correctional Facility on charges of Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Burglary, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm by a convicted felon, and Burglary – Residential.
