HUTCHINSON, Kan. – On Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at approximately 3:00 am, while on routine patrol, officers with the Hutchinson Police Department (HDP) heard an audible alarm in the area of 30th Ave and Lorraine Street. Shortly after it was determined to be coming from the Dollar General at 3030 N Lorraine. Officers secured the scene and located evidence consistent with a burglary. Upon search of the building, nobody was found inside but multiple items were reported as missing.
Investigators were ultimately able to identify a 16-year-old male juvenile as the suspect. On June 30, 2023, at approximately 12:30 pm, the juvenile was placed into custody without incident and multiple items from the burglary were recovered. HPD is not releasing the suspect’s name at this time.
The juvenile is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
