WICHITA, Kan. — A Kansas man has been sentenced to 151 months in prison for distributing child sexual exploitation materials. Zachary Charles Hiskey, 27, from Hutchinson, received a 151-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to one count of distribution of child pornography.

Court documents reveal that in June 2021, Hiskey used Kik, a messaging app, to distribute videos showing adult males involved in sexually explicit acts with prepubescent children. Kik detected these videos and reported the account to law enforcement through a cyber tipline. This report led to the discovery of additional illicit materials linked to Hiskey’s email and IP address at his home in Hutchinson.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Kansas shared that while executing a search warrant at Hiskey’s home, investigators found an electronic device containing an Internet browser thumbnail of recently viewed child exploitation materials. It was also revealed through a forensic examination that the Kik account had been installed and deleted from his cell phone.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and Assistant U.S. Attorney Jason Hart prosecuted the case.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative started in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project aims to utilize federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute those who exploit children online and to identify and rescue victims. More information about Project Safe Childhood can be found at the Department of Justice’s website.
