HUTCHINSON, Kan. — At 6:55 a.m. the Hutchinson Fire Department was called to the 3500 block of Blanchard SW for a structure fire.
Upon the arrival of the first fire engine, they found an attached garage that had heavy smoke coming from it.
The crew made an aggressive attack on the fire and held the fire to just the garage. Although some smoke did make it in the house the fire did not.
One occupant went to the hospital for smoke inhalation, but all HFD crews were uninjured. Crews remained on scene for a while to pick up tools and monitor the garage of any hot spots.
The Hutchinson Fire Department would like to thank its partners. Reno County Dispatch, Reno County EMS, Reno County Sheriff’s Office, and Reno County Public works.
