HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Early Wednesday morning the Hutchinson Fire Department responded to 715 West 9th Avenue for a report of a structure fire. Upon arrival, fire crews reported a single-story home with heavy fire showing from the rear of the home.
As fire crews entered the home, they located the seat of the fire in a bedroom that had extended into the attic space and other areas of the home. Crews made an aggressive interior attack and were able to stop the spread of fire before it moved through the entire attic space. No one was home at the time of the fire; however, fire command was given additional information that the home was intentionally set on fire.
Fire investigators continue to work the fluid situation. No injuries were reported.
