HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The Hutchinson Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire in the 100BLK of West 7th . Crews arrived to find a small fire working in the attic space of a 2-story, balloon frame residence. Crews were able to make entry into the attic and extinguish the fire with no issues and minimal damage to the home.
The home was occupied at the time of call and the occupants were the ones that notified dispatch. The occupants we able to exit the structure and no injuries were reported. Damage was contained to the attic and ceiling. Cause is still under investigation.
