HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Fire Department responded to a house fire at 1300 East 7th Avenue this evening. No injuries were reported and the home sustained moderate damage to a bathroom, making it unable to be occupied.
According to the HFD, arriving crews saw light smoke coming from the roof line of the single story home. The fire crews then made an aggressive interior attack, and located a fire in a bathroom. The fire was extinguished quickly.
There were two adults, three kids and several pets (dogs and cats) who occupied the house. No one was injured and the pets were safely removed from the home.
The occupants were alerted by a working smoke detector.
Hutchinson-Reno County Emergency Communications, Reno County EMS, Kansas Gas, EVERGY, and Hutchinson Police Department assisted HFD with the fire.
