HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Recreation Commission announces the hiring of a new Nature Education Coordinator at Dillon Nature Center.
Ethan Huston started his role as nature education coordinator on Sept. 8. He comes to Hutch Rec with a bachelor’s degree in environmental stewardship from McPherson College. While there, Huston was involved in research focused on tallgrass prairie restoration, ecology, herpetology, and conservation.
Huston grew up in St. John, Kansas, and has always enjoyed spending time outdoors. His hobbies include hiking, fishing, hunting, camping, and entomology.
As nature education coordinator at Dillon Nature Center, Huston assures sufficient and quality nature education and outdoor recreation programs through planning, organizing, and coordinating programs for all ages at the nature center, area schools, and at various sites. He offices at Dillon Nature Center, located at 3002 E. 30th Avenue in Hutchinson.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to inspire a love for nature in future generations and to help connect people with the outdoors,” Huston says. “I look forward to contributing to the ongoing success of Dillon Nature Center as a place where learning and fun go hand in hand.”
