HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson City officials are evaluating the extent of damage from last night’s high winds and determine response plans.

The most important thing to note is Hutchinson residents will be responsible for their own limb removal.

City crews were out overnight clearing streets, pushing limbs into yards with the Forestry division assisting when downed limbs are touching private property such as cars or mailboxes. If necessary, tree limb drop off sites are be announced shortly.

Operations were also restores overnight at the Wastewater Treatment Plant and Water Treatment Center. 12 of Hutchinson’s lift stations are still down, with generators being used to keep some of them going. 18 traffic signals around the city remain without power, with four of those running on generators at this time. If a traffic signal is off, consider that intersection as being a four way stop.

Additional updates will be forthcoming as more information is available.

HALSTEAD, Kan. — The city of Halstead has announced plans for cleanup of debris from last night’s storm.

All limbs should be cut to 14 feet or less in order for their Public Works crews to remove them. Because of the amount of damage Halstead sustained the city said this will be an ongoing effort, and with that your patience is appreciated.
