Prairie Land Realtors’ Mid-Kansas Multiple Listing Service showed 132 homes sold in May, which was off 13 from May 2024. However, the value of what sold, at $26.7 million, was up from a year ago.

The median sales price for May at $179,222 was up 16.9 percent, or nearly $20,000 from last year, with homes sold in May typically on the market for ten days and bringing full list price. 143 contracts were written last month, up five from 2024, with 186 contracts pending.

In Reno County, 70 homes sold with a median price of $169,950, up 14.1 percent, with 89 homes on the market at month’s end.

In the McPherson area, which includes MLS sales in McPherson and Marion counties, 25 homes sold with a median price of $205,000, up 20.2 percent, and 63 listings active as of May 31st. 14 homes sold in the Pratt area last month with their median sales price of $155,500 up 55 percent.

Region wide, as of May 31st there were 238 active listings, or 1.9 months of inventory.
