HAVEN, Kan. – Plans as of now are for the Haven City Pool operational this summer.
The Haven City Council released information Tuesday on the status of repairs and improvements to the facility. Work has been progressing since January to remove and replace defective sections of the pool. Construction on remediation of pool defects is reportedly going well with footings complete and plumbing installed and properly operating. Wall forms and electrical work are being done this week.
The City of Haven is currently engaged in litigation in Reno County District Court with the general contractor, subcontractor, designer, and engineer of the pool project. The pool was originally closed in 2019 after necessary repairs failed to correct several problems.
During the process, portions of demolished concrete are being preserved near the pool area. The City Council urged residents to stay away from the area for safety reasons.
