HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Construction is finalized, and the 1861 Club celebrates its grand opening today, Friday, September 6th. The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on Thursday, September 5th, with many current and former Kansas Fairgrounds Foundation board members and staff, Kansas State Fair board members, and the Chamber of Commerce in attendance. The 1861 Club is located next to the Domestic Arts Building at 212 Cottonwood Avenue.
Open to the public with no membership required, the 1861 Club welcomes anyone with a gate pass to the Kansas State Fair.
Throughout the 10 days of the Kansas State Fair, the 1861 Club will serve as a hub for food, beverage, and entertainment for all visitors. The venue boasts a diverse array of entertainment, featuring live bands, local DJs, football games and the Grand Drive broadcast on the venue’s TVs.
Moreover, the 1861 Club presents a unique menu of non-traditional fair food, offering an elevated and enjoyable selection of items. Guests can choose from various sandwich melts, shareable plates, and comforting desserts like a Salted Caramel Brownie or a warm Apple Tart. Highlighted menu items include a Mexican Shrimp Cocktail and a Fiesta Fusion Boat.
Guests are invited to enjoy a freshly prepared menu item, complemented by a cold beverage or the exclusive 1861 Lager while seated inside a climate-controlled area, or on a partially covered and open-air patio.
Remember the #1 reason to visit the 1861 Club is that revenue generated goes back into preserving and beautifying buildings and areas on the Kansas State Fairgrounds for visitors throughout the year.
