TOPEKA, Kan. – Today, Governor Laura Kelly announced 7 appointments and 3 reappointments to the following state boards and commissions.
911 Coordinating Council
Purpose: To monitor the delivery of 911 services, develop strategies for future enhancements to the 911 system and distribute available grant funds to PSAPS.
- Michael Daniels, Gardner
- Doug Ritter, Meade
Kansas Animal Health Board
Purpose: To act as an advisory board to the Livestock Commission.
- Megan Potter, Abilene (reappointment)
- David Worrel, Andover (reappointment)
- Tara Dillow, Erie
Board of Examiners in Optometry
Purpose: To administer and enforce the provisions of Kansas Optometry Law so that the highest quality of eye care is provided to the citizens of Kansas.

- Dr. Dawn Bircher, Overland Park (reappointment)
Capitol Preservation Committee
Purpose: To approve all proposals for renovation of all areas of the state capitol, the capitol’s visitor center and the grounds surrounding the capitol.

Kansas Commission on Disability Concerns
Purpose: The Kansas Commission on Disability Concerns’ (KCDC) vision is that all people with disabilities are entitled to be equal citizens and equal partners in Kansas society
