HUTCHINSON, Kan. (May 5, 2025) — Boys & Girls Clubs of Hutchinson announced today that Alliyah Gray has been named the marketing and development coordinator, effective May 5. She replaces Elicia Lance who accepted a position with Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community in Buhler.
It’s difficult to measure how much experience Gray has in the Boys & Girls Club movement because she grew up attending the Club. In 2015, she was honored as the Kansas Youth of the Year and served as the voice for all Club teens in the state. In her teen and college years she worked part-time for the Club as a Vision Leader.
“I’m excited to step into my new role as Marketing & Resource Development Coordinator,” said Gray. “I studied marketing in college with big dreams of one day working for a brand that truly meant something to me—ideally in a big city, doing impactful work. Fast forward a few years and a few kids later, I’m incredibly grateful to be living that dream right here at home, with an organization whose mission I deeply believe in. It feels like everything has come full circle.”
Following college, Gray enlisted in the U.S. Army where she held the rank of Specialist (SPC). Most recently, Gray has been a fixture at the Club’s teen site where she directed daily programming.

“I can’t wait to see what Alliyah does in this new role,” said Lance Patterson, chief executive officer. “I’ve known her since she was just a kid coming through our Club doors. To now see her stepping into her dream role with us is incredibly special—not just for her, but for all of us who’ve watched her grow. She brings energy, vision, and a deep understanding of our mission because she’s lived it.”
As marketing and development coordinator, Gray will provide leadership in fundraising efforts and building public awareness of the Club.
“I look forward to sharing the authentic, boots-on-the-ground story of our Club,” said Gray. “My goal is to build meaningful relationships at every level—within the community, with our staff, and most importantly, with our youth. By listening to our kids and amplifying their voices, we can discover new and better ways to serve them and make a lasting impact on their lives.”
