KANSAS – On July 26, eight Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers locations including McPherson, Hutchinson, and Newton will be participating in “Custard with Cops,” an event from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., where 15 percent of the sales made that day will go towards Special Olympics Kansas and the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.
Special Olympics makes it their goal to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run was started by six police officers in Wichita in 1981 and has continued to be one of the largest fundraisers for Special Olympics in Kansas.
If you are unable to visit any of the eight participating Freddy’s locations on the 26th, but still want to support, you can visit the websites above or reach out to the local law enforcement in the communities to see how you can donate to the cause.
