A two-year-old girl has died of injuries sustained in a Monday evening farm incident in southeast Allen County.
According to the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, the Allen County Communications Center received a 911 call from the child’s mother who reported the child had been ran over by a truck at the farm about 2 ½ miles northwest of Elsmore.
At the time of the call, the parents were driving the child to the hospital. An EMS unit met up with the family about three miles east of Humboldt, where the child was transferred to an ambulance, which then took them to Allen County Regional Hospital. The child was later flown to Children’s Mercy Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
The Sheriff’s office is investigating the incident, and at this time no foul play is suspected, this appearing to be a tragic farm-related accident.
