A former substitute teacher in Nickerson-South Hutchinson USD 309 has been placed on least 24 months probation on charges involving sexual contact with a student earlier this year.
Whitney Shull, who was sentenced in Reno County District Court Thursday was given an underlying jail sentence of 18 months on three counts of sexual battery, each count to be served consecutively. Two counts of providing alcohol to minors were dismissed.
As imposed by District Judge Daniel Gilligan, the probation period through Court Services can be extended to up to 36 months pending successful completion of recommended treatment.
The case was prosecuted by the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office at the request of Reno County prosecutors, and investigated by the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office.Â
