Entrepreneurship Connections to Feature Banker Laura Meyer-Dick

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – February 9, 2026 – StartUp Hutch will host Entrepreneurship Connections, a free networking event designed to foster discussion and meaningful connections among local entrepreneurs, on Tuesday, February 24, 5:30 to 7:00 PM at Sandhills Brewing, located at 111 W. 2nd Avenue in Hutchinson.

Entrepreneurship Connections brings together aspiring and experienced entrepreneurs from across Reno County for an evening of conversation, peer learning, and relationship-building.

The February event will feature Laura Meyer-Dick of First Kansas Bancshares and First National Bank of Hutchinson as the guest speaker. Meyer-Dick is a fourth-generation community banker and Vice President of First Kansas Bancshares, the parent company of First National Bank of Hutchinson. With a background in commercial lending, she has played a key role in expanding the

bank’s lending footprint nationwide while championing relationship-driven, independent banking. She is also leading the $14 million restoration of the historic Meyer Landmark Hotel in downtown Hutchinson, a signature project that reflects her commitment to economic development, historic preservation, and the belief that what strengthens a community ultimately strengthens its bank.

During the event, she will share insights on community-centered leadership, the role of banking in economic development, and lessons learned from balancing legacy, growth, and long-term impact.
