A 32-year-old Emporia man was killed early Thursday morning when his pickup collided with a semi northwest of Marion.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said Gregory Scott Campbell was westbound on US 56 just east of Remington Road or K-256 just before 6 AM when he crossed the center line and struck the semi head-on. The Semi then overturned and came to rest blocking the highway.
Campbell was pronounced dead at the scene The driver of the semi, Brian McGrew, 51, of Longford, was checked at the scene for a complaint of pain.
Traffic was diverted around the scene for several hours while the crash was investigated by the Highway Patrol’s Critical Highway Accident Response Team.Â
