MARQUETTE, Kan. – Marquette Fire responded early Wednesday morning to a report of the smell of smoke at Riverview Estates, 202 S. Washington St. EMS arrived on the scene to confirm the smell of smoke and a light haze in the hallway.
Lindsborg Fire also responded due to the high-risk life hazard based on the occupancy level of the facility. Units on the scene located a fire in the attic of the Sunflower Wing. Residents were evacuated to the EMS station down the block and the was quickly extinguished.
There were no injuries reported, and all residents have been relocated to Bethany Home in Lindsborg. The source of the fire is under investigation.
