HUTCHINSON, Kan. — During the height of the storm this morning Hutchinson Fire crews were called to a possible house fire in the 2800 block of Pama Lou Avenue.

Division Chief of Operations Jeremy Unruh said the first arriving units just after 4 AM found heavy fire showing from the back of the structure, fighting 60 mile an hour winds at that point and heavy rain to get the fire out in a short period of time.

The fire, currently considered electrical in nature, caused heavy damage to about a third of the home.

One firefighter sustained a hand injury during the fire.
